Makayla Plymale, DVM

Dr. Plymale has been a general practitioner at Laughery Valley Veterinary Hospital since June 2026. Originally from Sunman, Indiana, she completed her undergraduate education at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. She continued her education at University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded the DVM in May 2026. Her professional interest includes ophthalmology, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and exotics.

Dr. Plymale is particularly interested in ophthalmology. She enjoys working with the team at Laughery Valley Veterinary Hospital and takes pride in being able to provide a high quality of care to her clients and patients.

Outside of work, you can find Dr. Plymale trail riding with her horse Faith, reading a good book, or hiking in state and national parks.
